SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Provides field management for all aspects of on-train service delivery in division with specific responsibility for on-board personnel.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• This position is accountable for all employee, passenger and train related activities at the crewbase and on board services.

• Lead implementation of the "Safety Starts With Me" process
• Responsible for responding to and addressing customer needs and issues

• Provides direction to ensure compliance of on-board personnel with corporate policies and procedures relative to customer service, service recovery, accounting procedures, FDA requirements, safety and uniform and grooming standards

• Implements operational processes to ensure quality and consistency of day-to-day over the road operations consistent with business and service objectives

• Assists in resolution of over road problems and resolves customer complaints;
ensures proper on-board personnel training and testing consistent with service requirements and other items of regulatory compliance

• Supervises employee development, counseling and disciplinary action

• Coordinates with management of crew base on employee standards, staffing, training, disciplinary actions and other personnel actions

• Coordinates with other field management, including stations, crew base, operations and mechanical, regarding service disruptions and recovery

• Implements the divisions safety plan to ensure compliance by all employees, and respond to, investigate and complete required paperwork

• If applicable, manages relationship with state agencies to properly administer state-funded programs.

 

WORK EXPERIENCE:
• Must have demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills.  Some passenger transportation services experience.
• Ability to work under pressure, executing multiple tasks with tact and composure.  Working knowledge of applicable labor agreements.
•Demonstrates competency in administering and participating in Amtrak or state-sponsored programs related to safety, customer service or service enhancements.

 

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
• Must manage time effectively in order to respond to on-board employees, customers and other management staff quickly and accurately.
• Must have demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills
• Some relevant passenger transportation services experience
• Ability to work under pressure, executing multiple tasks with tact and composure
Must be able to share supervisory responsibility

 

PREFERRED EDUCATION:
Prefer a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration or related field or equivalent work experience, education or training.

 

COMMUNICATIONS AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
