Must pass required examination and must possess current Stationary Engineer license from the City of Chicago. Operate and maintain gas fired high pressure boilers and appendage equipment.  Test boiler feed water for proper chemical levels, solids level hardness and alkalinity. Test and regenerate softening 
equipment, and maintain cleanliness of plant.    


• High School Diploma
• Valid Driver’s License
• Verbal comprehension (understand oral and written communications--both general and technical)
• Communication skills (provide clear instructions/directions)
• Reasoning skills (problem solving and troubleshooting skills)
• Heavy work, lifting to 70 pounds occasionally and up to 100 pounds on a rare basis
• Stoop/bend/kneel/crouch/balance/climb on an occasional basis
• Demonstrate auditory and visual acuity/tracking/inspection
• Commercial Driver's License (CDL) may need to be obtained based on job assignment
• Work safely to prevent on the job accidents and injuries
• Wear protective equipment such as hard hat, hearing protection, safety-toe boots, and safety glasses
• Work hours may include a nonstandard workweek, overtime, and various shift work
• Must pass all required assessments
• AMT-2


• Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)


Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
