Position Summary:

Work as part of a three-person team performing land surveying field measurements to support the design and construction of railroad facilities and structures.  Successful candidate will be instructed on working safely along the railroad as well as how to operate survey instruments and software.

 

Essential Functions:

Working outdoors to assist the field party leader in collecting any necessary survey data needed to help in the design and construction of railroad facilities. 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be actively pursuing a degree at an accredited educational institution. 

• Must be actively pursuing an undergraduate degree in civil engineering or Land Surveying.  

• Must have at least 1 year of academic undergraduate studies completed or a sophomore status at minimum. 

• Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher

• Must be available to work a minimum of 15 hours per week between the days/hours of Monday – Friday, 8am –   5pm.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Working ability with trigonometric functions

• Willingness to start early and work a flexible schedule

• Willingness to work outdoors Computer aided drafting (CAD) a plus
