This position is responsible for the repair of Cascade rolling stock in accordance with FRA, AAR, and Amtrak guidelines, policies, and regulations.  Involves, but is not limited to installation, operation, maintenance, trouble shooting, and repair Cascade cars as directed.  Examples include:  inbound/outbound inspection, HVAC, PA/audiovisual, seat repair, lighting systems, and anti-locking braking.

•Employee will work within the guidelines of Amtrak’s Maintenance of Equipment Employees Safety Rules and Instructions.
•Remains alert to physical hazards that would be in conflict with a safe operational environment for Amtrak employees and passengers.
•Must exhibit ability to read an interpret electrical/mechanical drawings and operational manuals.
•Must maintain general housekeeping requirements and tool maintenance.
•Maintains qualifications to perform Electrician Tech assignments.
•Other duties as assigned. 


•Must have some electro/mechanical machine experience.
•Must have some railroad related experience.
•Requires candidates to complete and satisfactorily pass a physical capacity assessment
•May be required to pass various technical and/or cultural fit assessments relevant to this position
•Required to push/pull/lift/carry up to 50 lbs. of equipment and/or assemblies from racks, stands, benches, lift tables and/or carts (frequent bending or stooping)

•Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
