SUMMARY:
The Account Manager - Federal and Corporate Sales has the overall responsibility for growing Amtrak’s Federal Discount Program revenue and ridership. The candidate will be responsible for increasing awareness of the discount program at a federal agency level via the General Services Agency (GSA) and the Defense Travel Management Office (DTMO). The candidate will also manage and renew a portfolio of existing Corporate Accounts, growing ridership of assigned Corporate Accounts, and acquiring new Corporate Accounts

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Day-to-day management of Amtrak’s Federal Discount Program
  • Grow revenue and ridership for the Federal Discount Program both in the Northeast Corridor and nationwide
  • Educate GSA and DTMO agencies about the benefits of Amtrak’s Federal Discount Program and train travel in general
  • Day-to-day management of an assigned portfolio of Corporate Accounts
  • Renew annual agreements for assigned Corporate Accounts
  • Grow ridership for assigned Corporate Accounts
  • Build a robust corporate prospect pipeline while achieving individual territory sales and new account goals
  • 25% travel is required


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 7 years of relevant experience in Federal Government transportation, travel, hospitality and sales functions
  • Bachelor’s Degree required OR equivalent combination of training, education and relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Proven project management skills in addition to strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communications skills, including proven written and presentation experience
  • Demonstrated experience communicating orally and in writing with the corporation and externally
  • Demonstrated experience simultaneously managing multiple projects and/or programs using appropriate tools and controls
  • Demonstrated familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Excel, Word and PowerPoint)

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 9+ years of relevant experience in Federal Government transportation, travel, hospitality and sales functions
  • Master’s Degree in relevant field

 

COMMUNICATION AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
