Position Summary:
We are seeking an energetic, responsible intern to join our Amtrak IT/CIO Communications Team. In this position, you will be expected to learn the ins-and-outs of our daily routines and procedures. You will focus on learning how our organization runs, and be expected to gain valuable insight that can further your interest in a communications career. In addition to office duties, you will have the opportunity to meet managers, executives and C-suite members of Amtrak. Duties will vary by assignment, and there will be many opportunities for learning new concepts and skills.


Essential Functions:

• Create IT employee spotlight videos. 
• Research Lunch and Learn topics. Collaborate with key individuals to develop Lunch and Learn content.
• Create slides for the IT network digital monitors, and update the monitors each week.
• Update the IT intranet site.  

- Research and develop new FAQs.  

- Update the IT success stories.  

- Update the Policies and Procedures, and Tools and Resources, as necessary.   

- Brainstorm/research ideas about new content to be considered for the site.

• Capture minutes at key, strategic meetings and provide additional administrative support for meetings and special projects. 

• Support the planning for meetings, town halls, all hands, etc.


Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be actively pursuing a degree at an accredited educational institution. 
• Must have at least 1 year of academic undergraduate studies completed or be sophomore status, at minimum.

• Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.

• Must be available to work a minimum of 15 hours per week between the days/hours of Monday – Friday, 8am –   5pm.


Preferred Qualifications:
• Prefer a Junior or Senior level undergraduate student pursuing a degree in Communications or English.

• Must have experience creating and editing videos. 

• Must be actively pursuing an undergraduate degree in Communications or English or related field.
