We are looking for a Social Media Intern to work with our Social Customer Care team to help deliver world-class customer service across our social channels, including Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.  The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of the major social channels and how they work and a desire to work with a team to engage with our audience.

• Identify customer inquiries via primary social media channels
• Respond to and resolve customer inquiries via social media including reservation issues, refund requests, train status updates, travel questions, and overall Amtrak experience concerns
• Tag and label all inbound conversation for reporting purposes
• Escalate advanced issues to Social Engagement Lead or appropriate internal resources as necessary
• Monitor internal information from Operations regarding delays and service disruption and escalate to Lead as needed
• Engage with customers sharing positive brand sentiment
• Provide an overall outstanding customer service experience for all customers
• Other duties as assigned

• Must be actively pursuing an undergraduate degree in Marketing or Communications 

• Must be actively pursuing a degree at an accredited educational institution. 
• Must have at least 1 year of academic undergraduate studies completed or a sophomore status at minimum. 
• Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher

• Available to work a minimum of 15 hours per week between the days/hours: Monday-Friday, 8a-5p

Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
