SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
The Intern for the Mobile Development team will work alongside a seasoned IT professional supporting and building eCommerce or enterprise Mobile solutions at Amtrak.  Learn IT best practices by working with a technical mentor.  Some of the areas that the intern will be involved in are - requirements, design, development, testing, deployment, and troubleshooting.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Under the supervision of assigned technical lead, the position will:
• Hands on software design and development for iOS and Android applications.
• Work on maintenance or enhancements projects.
• Participate in all aspects of the software development life cycle (Agile) and working with project team.
• May be part of the team developing large scale responsive web / mobile application using Mobile development framework for various screen/device/digital touch point variations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be actively pursuing a degree at an accredited educational institution. 
• Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
• Must have completed at least 1 year of undergraduate academic study or have sophomore status

• Must be available to work a minimum of 15 hours per week between the days/hours of Monday – Friday, 8am –   5pm.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Students pursuing a Master of Science in Information Technology or Computer Science degree from an accredited university.
• Experience / Knowledge of Mobile development using Flutter, Dart, Ionic, JSON, REST, HTML5, CSS.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience / ability to develop design documentations, development, testing, deployment and support artefacts.
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills

COMMUNICATIONS AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:
Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
