National Railroad Passenger Corporation has an opening for a Sr. Director Financial Planning & Analysis in Washington, DC.

 

Job Duties: Act as the Business Partner for State Support and Ancillary Business Analytics. Work with executive management on analyzing Amtrak State Agreements and setting financial contracts pertaining to them. Responsible for preparing, analyzing and verifying financial documents in order to provide information to clients. Responsible for group-working on our PRIIA 212 analytics. Analyze and communicate financial information for various stakeholders. Serve as an internal expert on technical matters related to accounting policy and transactions accounting. Oversee the staff that will work with management across multiple divisions of the company including Corporate Accounting, Treasury, Real Estate, Human Capital, and Procurement to research complex areas and reach conclusions over the proper accounting treatment. Work with the implementation of new accounting procedures such as the new revenue accounting standard and the new lease accounting standard. Review pending agreements for the potential accounting impact of the transactions and to ensure that Amtrak collects all the appropriate accounting documentation and analysis in anticipation of and after the transaction. This position will supervise three professional employees: Director of FP&A Commuter; Sr. Manager FP&A State Supported; Sr. Financial Analyst FP&A State Supported. Must be available to travel to work on projects at various, unanticipated sites throughout the United States.


Requirements: Employer will accept Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or related field, followed by nine years of progressive, post-baccalaureate work experience in job offered, or nine years of progressive, post-baccalaureate work experience in a financial services-related occupation. This position will supervise three professional employees. Must be available to travel to work on projects at various, unanticipated sites throughout the United States. Position requires five years of experience with each of the following: Financial modeling; Business analysis and forecasting; MS Office tools; Conducting financial presentations internally and externally to an organization; Working closely with internal business partners to develop and assess business opportunities through financial analysis; Drafting and reviewing State and Agency contracts to ensure the mitigation of financial risks; Partnering with external customers to drive the business forward and resolve issues with respect to billing and cost estimation; Partnering with internal stakeholders to provide Finance support in realizing opportunities and mitigating risks; and, SAP and Oracle S/W.
