Job Duties: Optimize revenue for assigned trains by allocating inventory based on passenger demand, setting overbooking authorizations to minimize spoilage, monitoring passenger demand to determine short-term and medium-term equipment adjustments, and implementing or assisting in the implementation of a variety of projects related to pricing department functions. Work closely with Pricing Strategy to develop coordinated revenue management strategies and tactics. Determine and implement overbooking authorizations. Analyze demand data and allocate seat inventory for each fare bucket - working in conjunction with an automated forecast system. Execute tactical inventory controls and capacity management actions for trains departing daily for up to eleven months in the future. Monitor and analyze critical departures daily and determine appropriate adjustments. Create critical train rules to identify departures performing outside expectations. Evaluate group exception scenarios for price and placement analysis based on Group Acceptance Model. Perform analyses on past, present, and future passenger demand to support pricing actions, equipment utilization, and marketing promotions. Analyze KPI reports and evaluate results to identify issues for follow-up and improve future demand allocations. 

 

Requirements: Employer will accept Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Statistics or related field; and 2 years of work experience in job offered or 2 years of work experience in a related occupation. Experience must include: quantitative analysis; data mining, market analysis, and reporting; revenue management concepts and systems; and tools including Access, Business Object, SAS, or SQL as data analysis tool. This position requires pre-employment background verification, medical review, and pre-employment drug screen.
