SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
The Direcotr Financial Planning and Analysis Mechanical has overall responsibility for overseeing the development, implemention and tracking of the Mechanical Department operating and capital budgets. Position manages the planning, budgeting and reporting groups responsible for developing and tracking the 5-year capital plan and detail operating
and capital budgets.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Oversee the development and management of the department's complex $400+m operating and $750+m capital budget.
• Lead efforts in developing and maintaining the State of Good Repair Plan and the 5-year strategic business plan for the Mechanical Department.
• Responsible for the development and implementation of the Mechanical Department financial and reporting standards, policies and procedures.
• Acts as the key liaison with the Mechanical sub-department heads throughout the system, as well as intra-departmental and external clients in regard to planning and budgeting activities.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Minimum of 13 years of progressively increasing experience and responsibilities.
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field or the equivalent combination of education,
training and/or experience.
• Proven ability to direct the creation and development of capital, operating, reimbursable budgets, oversee budget
management and results.
• Extensive experience in making high-level presentations.
• Significant experience in using MS Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access)
• Significant experience in conducting effective, informative and productive meetings.
• Significant experience in leading people as a team in the achievement of common goals.
• Significant experience in demonstrating effective skills in communicating orally and in writing to internal and
external clients.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Master's degree in Business Administration, Organizational Management or a related field or the equivalent combination of education, training and/or exprience.
• Experience in railroad, other transportation or construction industries.

 

COMMUNICATION AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
