SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
This Finance group supports Amtrak's Engineering Department and position is based in Philadelphia, PA. The position supports the Budget and Planning Mnager position in all financial management functions related to Reporting, Forecasting and Planning.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
85% - Financial Management and Budgeting

  • This position will assist in preparing P&L reporting packages, monthly firecasts and annual business plans. Create operating expense and headcount reports, confuct accounting research, provide detailed GL account analysis, support the accrual prosess, perform Journal entreies and support other ad hoc expense related management projects.


15% - Support

  • Participates in variouys meetings with the Engineering management team in order to assist with development and understanding of financial statistical date for the Engineering and Finance management team.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, FInance, Accounting and/or Economics
  • 1-4 years' experience working in an accounting and/or finance field
  • Demonstrated knowledge of budgeting and accounting principles; knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning systems like ORacle and SAP.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize, coordinate and review the work related to budget preparation, capital planning and administrative projects.
  • Demonstrated skills using PC-based applications, web-based collaboration tools and familiarity of financial and business systems.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Working towards or have a Master's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Statistics, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience in working with performance measurement systems preferred
  • Knowledge/experience with use of KPI's


COMMUNICATION AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
