SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
The multimedia intern will support the HR Training, Development and Performance Organization. S/he will utilize multiple technologies to design and produce digital training materials/assets that support the company’s training channels and help design learning innovations that meet the needs of the modern learner. 

 

This individual will design a diverse mix of multimedia material, consisting of graphic design, video production and web development for use in training and web based applications. S/He will partner with team members to create visually rich, compelling and training related content that draws together interactive multimedia features such as text, sound, graphics, digital/analog photographs, animation, video and information.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Interact and collaborate with team members, business leaders, and HR partners to create training solutions to enhance Amtrak’s learning experience.
• Ability to understand and translate brainstorming ideas and requirements in design concepts and storyboards .
• Utilize technology to facilitate employee participation through various channels that drive learning and increased knowledge through the use of blended learning, video-based learning, animation, infographics and gamification.
• Create visual concepts using wide range computer software, to communicate ideas that inspire, inform, and captivate learners.
• Organize, prioritize, coordinate and implement multiple projects within established timelines.
• Ability to design deliverables in accordance with best practices and company standards.
• Willingness to take on additional tasks as needed.

•  This position begins Spring/January 2019

 

EDUCATION:

• Must be actively pursuing an undergraduate degree in Media Design or similar discipline


QUALIFICATIONS:
• Must be actively pursuing a degree at an accredited educational institution.  

•  Must have at least 1 year of academic undergraduate studies completed or a sophomore status at minimum. 

•  Available to work a minimum of 15 hours per week between the days/hours: Monday-Friday, 8a-5p

• Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Proficient in Adobe suite of products (Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, and After Effects) .
• Knowledge of Articulate Storyline or Adobe Captivate eLearning software.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• High attention to detail and organizational aptitude.
• Ability to work independently on specific projects.
• Familiarity with the latest technology for instructional design and curriculum.
• Familiarization with 3D modeling applications (Cinema 4D, Simplify 3D or Maya).
• Game Design and Development background.
• Knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.


COMMUNICATION AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
