ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for posting bulletins, awards, displacements, and abolishment notices for all crafts in MARC Mechanical, which includes running LSO Reports to check for current qualifications.  All these are reported to supervision before posting
  • Maintain and update employee database
  • Generate Human Resource forms to update employee records (internal/external transfers, medical correspondences, return to work physicals, etc.)
  • Plan for meetings, conference rooms, any kind of special needs or requests
  • Process expenses (including travel), make reservations and procure travel, including system approvals
  • Prepare and file disciplinary correspondences, along with sending certified mail
  • Prepare all FRA/Amtrak forms in connection with Maintenance of Equipment
  • Produce Locomotive/Cab Car Blue forms (MAP 816 – FRA F6180-49A) and maintain throughout the year
  • Must organize and file all MAP forms and other miscellaneous paperwork in accordance with the appropriate retention period
  • Prepare all daily, weekly, and monthly Commuter Mechanical reports
  • Responsible for daily maintenance planning and coordination with all external parties via a daily conference call
  • Input/Extract Mechanical and Labor information (WMS & OMS) for supervision
  • Order office supplies etc. and maintain the Daily Material Report
  • Check Tableau Absenteeism Report and review with each responsible General Foreman
  • Organize and maintain/update vacation schedules for all the MARC Mechanical crafts
  • Produce and keep filed any supervision correspondences as directed
  • Answer phones and timely deliver all work-related messages
  • Must be proficient with a computer and all associated software, to include but not limited to: Microsoft Office included software, WMS, E-Trax, SPARTN, SAP and ARROW (OMS)
  • All other duties as assigned
     

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Employees must have positive test results on file for both proficiency tests in MS Word and MS Excel 

 

COMMUNICATIONS AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:
Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.

 

The hourly rate is $27.08 - $36.11 (with opportunity for increases, as per the applicable collective bargaining agreement, after beginning employment). If an applicant/employee refuses to provide written consent for Amtrak to obtain these records, the individual will not be permitted to perform safety-sensitive functions.
