This position manages the day-to-day administration, maintenance and troubleshooting of the enterprise- wide  security identification card/access control system to include but not limited to: (1) resolving access control problems and errors; (2)  resolving HELP desk calls related to ID card and access control; (3) assisting management as required to complete access reports that are run against the access control (Lenel) database; (4) participating in access control/ID card policy reviews toward system and practice updates and enhancements. This position requires a strong understanding of security industry practices, techniques, and standards to develop and execute solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter comfortable with working in fast paced environment under general supervision.

•  Manages the Amtrak Lenel Identification Card System Program
•  Develops and administers security programs and procedures for proprietary materials, documents, andequipment
•  Responds to and monitors technical service calls
•  Perform weekly system administration duties on all access control systems to ensure operability, reliability and application security requirements are maintained
•  Participate in access control system reviews of new projects by providing best practice and technical guidance to Project Managers for the development, implementation, and support of the Amtrak access management platform
•  Maintain and ensure adherence to existing access control policies and procedures
•  Ensures integrity of the access control system through a collaborative effort with appropriate stakeholders (i.e. IT and Human Capital)
•  On request, investigates security violations and prepares reports related to the incident. Additional, provides suggestions specifying how preventive action can be taken
•  Participation in field activities, inspections, walk-throughs, equipment installation, pre-test and post-test activities, etc, as required
•  Works closely with Human Capital to complete the employee and contractor onboarding and off-boarding pertaining to Smart ID
•  Manages the procurement and tracking of resources applied to the security identification card system, including expenditures required for effective program implementation

•  Some experience or more of progressively responsible professional experience
developing or working with physical security or access control systems and programs
•  Demonstrated ability to plan and conduct effective meetings
•  Ability to perform well under pressure and tight deadlines that often come with crisis situations
•  Extensive knowledge of Lenel OnGuard and ID Card Management System
•  Comprehensive knowledge of Lenel Access Control hardware infrastructure
•  Ability to understand the roles and responsibilities of the department and the inter-relationships of its customers and stakeholders
•  Interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving skills, including a demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and in a team or collaborative environment
•  Proficiency in utilizing Microsoft Office, including SharePoint, Excel, Outlook, Word, Access, Project and PowerPoint, and project management software

Lenel Master Certification

Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
