SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

 

He/she will be part of the IT team helping Amtrak’s Procure to Pay, Inventory & e-Warehouse management and Ariba on demand and future migration to S4 HANA initiative. This person will act as a trusted advisor to local line management regarding technology enablement and innovation opportunities and will partner with IT directors in optimizing ERP and identifying and implementing appropriate enhancement or new technologies.

  • SAP Solution Architecture, understanding business requirements and providing solutions within SAP applications
  • Develop, write, and communicate business requirements, write functional specifications; works closely with technical resources to coordinate development and testing of system changes
  • Hands on configuration experience in one or more of the SAP applications, based on business requirements
  • Provide production support activities through planned releases, break-fix resolution and emergency situations
  • Assist in the development of user test cases and validates test results during user acceptance testing
  • Assist in the development of user manuals and may assist in user training.

 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 

  • Would demonstrate the role of a SAP SME in procure to pay process that involves SAP SCM, Ariba (on demand) , eWM, Concur and collaborate with other SAP /3rd party applications
  • Would be an independent contributor in understanding business requirements, provide business solution, guide in writing functional / technical specifications and help deployment
  • Ensure project is being implemented as per Amtrak methodology and meeting all gate criteria
  • Co-ordinate with SAP COE team on day to day support activities and ensure defined KPIs are met
  • Assessing, recommending , configuring and testing of systems per business requirement, as necessary
  • Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with demonstrated presentation skills.

 

 

WORK EXPERIENCE:


•  Management experience and 7+ years of directly relevant experience 
•  Experience working in Agile environment using SCRUM methodologies;
•  Competent with Microsoft Project, Visio, and Office software;
•  In depth understanding of customer management and negotiation;
•  Ability to deliver on time, budget and scope 
•  Ability to drive capitalization and opex balance

 

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:


•  Management of Cloud Applications
•  Demonstrated Project Management Skills


PREFERRED EDUCATION:


HR or I.T. preferred + Bachelor or Advanced Degree in related field or equivalent
