SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
The Lead Equipment/Rolling Stock Analyst inputs and analyzes availability and reliability data related to equipment and Rolling Stock. This position generates equipment reports on a recurring basis in accordance with IMCS processes and will provide additional reporting as needed. The position will utilize, MAXIMO, Tableau, and other available programs to document equipment maintenance and repair history. In addition, the Lead  Equipment/Rolling Stock Analyst will work with IMCS managers daily to ensure equipment failures, repairs, and inspections are documented. The Lead Equipment/Rolling Stock Analyst will frequently interact with staff, provide reports and updates on fleet status.  

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Develop, maintain, and publish daily reports identifying unusual occurrences, daily accidents/incidents, equipment status and failure, and material requests. 
  • Develop, maintain, and publish RWE/Freight Services monthly report identifying equipment failure summary, equipment maintenance, and repair history (for the month), completed FRA accident/incident reports.  
  • Monitor, maintain, and produce reports for LCCAS (Limits Collision Compliance System), Samsara GPS database, for Annual One-Time Audit requests and Compliance. 
  • Extract data using special tools and software, respond to data-related queries, set up processes to make data more efficient, analyze and interpret trends from the data, and report trends to add business value and drive continuous improvement. 
  • Coordinate communications and dissemination of reporting data and tracking to all stakeholders.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration, Construction Management, related field or equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in statistical analysis, trend analysis and with on-time performance reporting and customer service feedback reporting 
  • Demonstrated experience working with multiple data sources and the consolidation of information into one reporting environment. 
  • Experience working with Amtrak’s MAXIMO, ARROW, Tableau, or other comparable industry reporting systems. 
  • Several years of experience working in the Engineering Mechanical, Transportation, or Planning departments or a related operations field.
  • Demonstrated skills using PC-based spreadsheets (Microsoft Excel, Access), Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint. 
  • Working knowledge of EAM systems including Maximo, ARROW,  or others. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Must be able to interface with all levels of employees and both external and internal customers.  
  • Demonstrated experience in all facets of Roadway Equipment inspection, maintenance, and construction, as well as working knowledge of other crafts.  
  • Must be able to effectively supervise in a demanding environment with frequently changing priorities and high volume of Purchase Requisitions. 
  • Strong decision making and critical thinking skills

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master of Science Degree in Business Administration, Construction Management, or related field with a minimum of 6-9 years’ experience in purchase or materials planning or related field. 
  • In lieu of education, a minimum of 12 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience. 
  • Excellent analytical skills, including use of statistical analysis techniques. 
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively coordinate with the IMCS Roadway Equipment and Freight Services team, and other departments to gather and verify the accuracy of data.  

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Combination of office and field environment working in all weather conditions. 
  • Constantly or frequently uses a computer keyboard, monitor, and mouse to perform a variety of tasks. 
  • Constantly or frequently sits, stands, or walks; may lift, carry, push, or pull objects of various weights; may reach, kneel, crouch, bend, or twist to perform administrative tasks (e.g., filing, retrieving materials from desks and bookcases, moving around an office setting). 
  • Travel:  25%.

Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.

 

The salary/hourly range is $94,300-$122,256. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. Depending on an employee’s assigned worksite or location, Amtrak may consider a geo-pay differential to be applied to the employee’s base salary. Amtrak may offer additional incentive and pay programs to recognize and reward our employees, including a short-term incentive bonus based upon factors such as individual and company performance that is commensurate with the level of the position and/or long-term incentive plan compensation.
